February 22, 2018 12:00pm - 1:00pmJosé Peña, MD, PhD, will arrive on February 22, 2018, to present the HBCS seminar, "Emergence of an Adaptive Behavioral Command for Sound‐Orienting Behavior in Owls and Translation to Humans." Dr. Peña is Professor at the Dominick Purpura Department of Neuroscience, Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. His lab investigates how the brain selects relevant features of the environment to encode information efficiently. Under his direction, they study hearing in birds, using their specialized behaviors to elucidate fundamental principles of brain function.
