What the National Research Mentoring

February 8, 2018 8:00am - 9:30am
Are you a mentee in the biomedical, behavioral, clinical or social sciences? Learn more about the National Research Mentoring Network (NRMN) at a February 8 event featuring Melissa McDaniels, PhD, of Michigan State University. Dr. McDaniels will lead a panel discussion about the NRMN, a nationwide consortium of biomedical professionals and institutions collaborating to provide trainees with evidence-based mentorship and professional development programming. NRMN’s program models emphasize the benefits and challenges of diversity, inclusivity and culture within mentoring relationships, and more broadly the research workforce. The goal of the NRMN is to enhance the diversity of the NIH-funded research workforce. Dr. McDaniels is assistant dean of the MSE Graduate School and director of the teaching assistant program. She is a master facilitator and synchronous online training specialist with the NIH-supported NRMN.
