12th Annual Advanced Liver Disease & Transplant Update
May 19, 2017 7:30am - 3:15pmThe University of Michigan Transplant Center is hosting their 12th annual course on Liver Disease and Liver Transplantation on Friday, May 19 at the Sheraton Detroit Novi Hotel. This course is designed to provide an update on recent developments in the management of patients with advanced liver disease including chronic hepatitis C, cirrhosis and complications of portal hypertension. Through a series of overview lectures and case presentations, participants will become familiar with the use of oral antiviral agents for HCV, the indications and outcomes with adult living donor and deceased donor liver transplantation, machine preservation of livers, organ allocation policy proposals, local access to mental health providers, and diagnosis and staging of CKD after transplant. The course is directed to gastroenterologists, PCPs, surgeons, and other health care providers including social workers, nurses and mid level providers.
