Medication Take-Back Event

May 20, 2017 10:00am - 2:00pm
Prescription drug abuse by teens and others is a critical issue in the U.S., including our local area. In Washtenaw County alone, overdoses from opioid pain relievers such as OxyContin and Vicodin more than doubled from 2014 to 2015 for residents 21 or younger. A team from the Division of Pain Research in the Department of Anesthesiology will join with the Ann Arbor Police for a Medication Take-Back Event that will collect unwanted, expired or unused medications of all kinds, and dispose of them in a safe and environmentally responsible way. Any member of the community may bring medications to the Main Street entrance of the Pioneer High School parking lot between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The event is free and open to all.
