Kidney and Pancreas Transplantation

The State of the Art: Kidney and Pancreas Transplantation will take place Thursday, October 19, 2017 at the Hilton Garden Inn Detroit-Troy in Troy, Michigan. This course will be of particular interest to nephrologists, primary care physicians, dialysis center staff, nurses, social workers, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and other health care professionals who care for kidney and pancreas transplant candidates and recipients. Topics include the referral process, determining candidacy for kidney transplant, surgical management, kidney exchange, health literacy, psychiatric aspects, waiting for a transplant and cardiac work-up for evaluation. Featured guests will be Dorrie Dills, RN, BSN, CEO of Gift of Life Michigan, and Mike Rees, MD, CEO/Medical Director of the Alliance for Paired Kidney Donation. Continuing education credits will be available.
