Classical Piano by Louis Nagel

As a part of the University of Michigan bicentennial celebration, this concert features a performer with a long and distinguished U-M history. Louis Nagel is a concert pianist who has performed around the world as a soloist and chamber recitalist and with orchestra. Having served on the faculty for 47 years, he is professor emeritus of piano and piano literature in the U-M School of Music, Theatre and Dance (SMTD) and is the 2016 recipient of the annual SMTD Harold Haugh Award for excellence in private studio teaching. 30 years ago, Nagel selected the Yamaha C3 grand piano and gave the inaugural concert for the Gifts of Art performing arts program, this year celebrating its 30th anniversary.
