The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation offers “Functional Fitness for Older Adults,” an eight-week exercise program specifically for those 62 years and older. The goal of the class is to provide proven exercise interventions to help older adults combat the physical effects of aging such as muscle loss, weight gain, compromised balance and reaction time, worsened posture, flexibility and increased frailty.
