Aiyagari appointed chief medical information officer

Ranjit Aiyagari, M.D., has been appointed chief medical information officer for Michigan Medicine, effective July 1. In this position, Aiyagari will lead the Office of Clinical Informatics. Aiyagari has served as the interim CMIO since February 2016. In that role, he provided key institutional leadership over the MiChart stage 4 project, the organization’s Joint Commission recertification and numerous patient-centric initiatives including Break the Glass and Open Notes. University Hospital and the Frankel Cardiovascular Center recently announced that Vikas Parekh, M.D., Kelly Malloy, M.D., and Hitinder Gurm, M.D., will serve as associate chief clinical officers (ACCO). Healy appointed assistant dean for continuing medical education and life-long learning

On Thursday, the board of regents approved the appointment of David W. Healy, M.B.B.S., as the U-M Medical School’s assistant dean for continuing medical education and life-long learning, effective July 1. Healy is responsible for the institutional advancement and alignment of clinical continuing professional development and CME for Michigan Medicine physicians, regional physicians and alumni.
