Executive director for U-M Medical Group, Tim Johnson, M.D., announced this week that Migdalia Musler, MHSA, will assume the UMMG chief operating officer role, effective no later than Jan. 1, 2018. In this position, Musler will provide strategic oversight and operational management of UMMG, ambulatory care and other services.

As she transitions into her new role, finance will be working on a transition plan for Musler’s associate chief financial officer role. During this process, Musler will continue to lead the Cost Analytics and Decision Intelligence initiative until it is fully implemented.

Since 2007, Musler has served in various roles in finance with increasing levels of leadership, responsibility and complexity. Early in her tenure, she supported the development of the financial and operating model for ambulatory care, and more recently has served as an administrative leader across several multidisciplinary clinics and the Office of Population Health.

Since June 2017, she has also served as interim chief operating officer for UMMG while maintaining her finance responsibilities.
