Update: Renaming of Materiel Services and realignment of Warehouse Operations

During the past couple of years, the organization has undergone a thorough evaluation of the current structure of supply chain services at Michigan Medicine.

In response to that effort, a number of services formerly provided by Materiel Services are undergoing realignment — helping to consolidate a number of support departments and units throughout the health system.

Earlier this month, Patient Equipment, Patient Transport and Mail Services were realigned under the department formerly known as Materiel Services. The department is now named Logistics and Support Services.

In addition to those three units, Logistics and Support Services also includes Entrance Services and management of the contract with the organization’s valet vendor. The focus of this department is the coordination of the movement of patients, medical equipment, mail and guest vehicles. Frank Krupansky will direct the unit and report to Maria Ceo, AHD for operations and ancillary services.

Meanwhile, Warehouse Operations is now fully under the direction of Supply Chain. This realignment supports the various initiatives currently underway and the efficiency of the supply chain system — a system that is responsible for providing products to customers from order to delivery.

Kristine Komives will direct this unit and report to Tom Contrucci, acting director of supply chain strategy and procurement.
