MedEQUIP update

October 13, 2017  //  FOUND IN: Updates & Resources

Please be advised that beginning Friday, Oct. 20, MedEQUIP — Michigan Medicine’s durable medical equipment (DME) provider — will stop accepting new patients for many of the services it currently provides.

There are a few therapies that will continue uninterrupted for both new and current patients, including:

  • LVAD supplies
  • Home ventilators and other associated supplies for adult and pediatric patients in this program
  • Serum ketone testing supplies for ketogenic diet pediatric patients
  • Inpatient specialty beds
  • UV light blankets (AKA: “Bili Blankets”)
  • Cochlear processors
  • Ambulatory aids (Wheelchairs, walkers, etc. for Medicare patients only)

Effective immediately, please send all new DME orders to other suppliers. Should patients call clinics seeking advice on alternate suppliers, refer to this list of DME providers who may be able to meet their needs  This list is not an endorsement or recommendation of any company listed — it is simply a list of the DME companies that provided the same or similar products to MedEQUIP.

Please encourage patients to call their insurance company to ensure the DME company they select is “in network” and able to provide the proper equipment.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation. If you have more questions, talk to your supervisor.
