Healy appointed assistant dean for continuing medical education and life-long learning

On Thursday, the board of regents approved the appointment of David W. Healy, M.B.B.S., as the U-M Medical School’s assistant dean for continuing medical education and life-long learning, effective July 1.

Healy is responsible for the institutional advancement and alignment of clinical continuing professional development and CME for Michigan Medicine physicians, regional physicians and alumni.

Healy joined the U-M faculty in 2007 as a clinical lecturer in the Department of Anesthesiology. He was appointed clinical assistant professor the following year and clinical associate professor in 2015. He currently serves as fellowship training director and associate chair for faculty affairs in the Department of Anesthesiology.

On the national level, Healy is a member of several professional societies and served as president of the Society for Head and Neck Anesthesia from 2011-15. His editorial positions include associate editor of the Anesthesiology Educational Toolbox and the Journal of Head and Neck Anesthesia.
