On Thursday, May 25, Michigan Medicine faculty and staff are invited to a fabulous night of art and a discussion on how it can create change. The event serves as a fundraiser to benefit seniors in the Ann Arbor area.

As part of the evening, the award-winning feature-length documentary “A New Color: The Art of Being Edythe Boone” will be presented at the Michigan Theater.

The fundraiser will be emceed by Rob Reinhart, host and producer of Acoustic Cafe, and will include a performance by the Chenille Sisters. A special VIP reception beforehand will include refreshments and a meet and greet with Reinhart and honorary chairs Deb Polich and Russ Collins.

The film screening is organized by Big Hearts for Seniors, which raises funds and promotes awareness regarding senior issues and needs.

The group is comprised of five nonprofit community-supported programs at Michigan Medicine that serve older adults. Together, Ann Arbor Meals on Wheels, Housing Bureau for Seniors, Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, Silver Club Memory Programs and the Turner Senior Wellness Program help seniors seeking access to home-delivered meals, affordable housing options, support to remain independent, lifelong learning opportunities and relief from social isolation, as well as care for those with dementia.

All funds raised will go directly to these programs.
