Bring your child to work, bring home movie tickets!
Does your child ever ask about your job or what you do at work? Take Your Child to Work Day is this Thursday, April 27, giving you a chance to show them first-hand what you do at Michigan Medicine.
While there is no formal program for the day at any Michigan Medicine location, talk to your supervisor to see if your department plans to participate.
If so, please consider the following to ensure a productive and enjoyable day for everyone:
- Respect the privacy of our patients. Children cannot be exposed to any form of protected health information in accordance with organizational policy. Additionally, visiting children should not interact directly with patients.
- For infection control reasons, visiting children are not permitted on inpatient floors or in any patient care areas in ambulatory, clinical or research settings.
- Michigan Medicine policies must be adhered to at all times. Employees are responsible for their own child(ren) while in the academic medical center.
If employees at Mott and Von Voigtlander Women’s hospitals bring children to work, they should check in at the front desk and get a visitor sticker for their child. Other departments should check in using their unit’s routine policy for visitors.
And don’t think Take Your Child to Work Day needs to be all work and no play. Send a cool photo of you and your kid(s) at work to firstname.lastname@example.org and you can win movie tickets!
