Tech trade-in benefits U-M Dance Marathon
Your old technology can help raise funds that make a real difference in kids’ lives. In honor of 10 years of sponsorship, U-M’s Computer Showcase will make a 10 percent donation to Dance Marathon for every trade-in through April 1.
On Monday, March 20, Showcase will host Trade It Up #FTK at University Hospital, a special event that will make it easier than ever to help the cause.
With an advance pre-order, customers can trade in eligible used computers, tablets, cell phones and MP3 players for credit toward a new tech purchase. You can get a trade-in quote online and see how much your old tech can help raise “for the kids.” Then, place your pre-order and bring your used tech to the UH Cafeteria between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. that day.
No trade-in? No problem!
You can still help by adding a cash donation of $1 or more to any purchase made through Computer Showcase. You’ll get a personalized “I stand for the kids” Dance Marathon foot in the Showcase store window.
Dance Marathon at U-M, or DMUM, is the largest student-run, nonprofit organization on campus. Members work throughout the year to raise funds for pediatric rehabilitation programs at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, among others.
Every year, DMUM celebrates their accomplishments at VictorThon, which will be held March 25–26. Hundreds of visitors offer their support while dancers remain on their feet for 24 hours to demonstrate the perseverance of kids who overcome challenges every day living with disabilities.
