Cancer metabolism experts headline March 17 symposium

Leading cancer metabolism experts will headline the March 17 Forbes-Taubman Symposium in Cancer Discovery, co-sponsored by the A. Alfred Taubman Medical Research Institute and the Forbes Institute for Cancer Discovery.

Four speakers, including Max Wicha, M.D., director of the Forbes Institute and Deputy Director of the Taubman Institute, will discuss their latest findings in the understanding of cancer metabolism and how research is leading to new avenues for cancer therapy.

In addition to Wicha, speakers include Michael Lisanti, M.D., Ph.D., (University of Salford), Michael Pollak, M.D., (McGill University) and Costas Lyssiotis, Ph.D., (U-M). Opening remarks will be presented by Eric Fearon, M.D., Ph.D., Director of the U-M Comprehensive Cancer Center.

All are welcome to attend the symposium and no registration is required.

The talks will take place from 8:30 a.m. until noon in the Kahn Auditorium of the AAT-BSRB, located at 109 Zina Pitcher Place in Ann Arbor. Refreshments and networking will precede the lectures at 8 a.m. in the BSRB lobby.
