One of the new patient rooms on 7A at University Hospital.

The seventh floor of University Hospital is prepped and ready to provide even more top-notch care to UMHS patients.

After renovations to the HAL Research area, 7A has five new single patient rooms, set to open on Tuesday, Oct. 11. The rooms will primarily be used to treat a similar patient population to the existing beds on 7A. This includes patients from the emergency department or those in need of scheduled or unscheduled post-procedural care who may require further monitoring, telemetry or infusions. The majority of the patients from this unit will be discharged to their homes or a skilled nursing facility. With the addition of these new units, 7A now has a total of 32 patient beds.

Come and see the new patient rooms for yourself at an open house this Friday!

The event will be held from noon until 4 p.m. and gives you the chance to see the future of patient care at UMHS while meeting with members of the 7A team. Everyone at UMHS is invited to attend. The members of 7A hope to see you there!
