WiFi users must accept new security certificate
Please be advised that all WiFi users must accept the new security certificate for MWireless-UMHS, MWireless and eduroam.
WiFi certificates help create a secure wireless environment. They need to be renewed every one to three years. In May, Campus Information and Technology Services replaced the certificate used to secure communications between a WiFi client device and the servers that connect users to the MWireless-UMHS, MWireless and eduroam networks.
This renewal took place after many students and some staff went on summer break. As a result, we are notifying returning users who may not have yet had to connect to the networks listed that they need to accept the new certificate.
Here's what you need to know:
The first time you attempt to connect to these networks, a pop-up box will appear asking you to accept a new security certificate. You will need to accept that certificate to continue using MWireless, MWireless-UMHS, and eduroam.
Apple iOS devices may not prompt you to carry out this task. Instead, your device may continue to attempt to connect to the network unsuccessfully until you accept the certificate. To do this, you will need to remove the networks (MWireless-UMHS, MWireless, and eduroam) from your device and add them back again. See here for instructions on how to do this yourself.
