At UMHS, we are committed to the health and safety of our patients and employees. Because of this commitment, please be advised that the organization’s hand hygiene policy has been updated to reflect the inclusion of shellac as a type of gel/polish blend prohibited for employees whose work includes hands-on direct patient care.

Other prohibited products include, but are not limited to: acrylic/gel nails, overlays, wraps, stickers and jewelry. Decorations and nail strengtheners that are not removable with standard nail polish remover are also prohibited.
