Connection session: Patient-Centered Care for Transgender Adolescents

The UMHS Adolescent Health Initiative is proud to offer this session to give participants a deeper understanding of gender identity. The session serves as a follow-up to the the Adolescent Health Initiative’s training of trainers, “He, She, They, and Zie, Patient-Centered Care for Transgender Adolescents.” 

The event is open to all health care professionals who work with adolescents, regardless of previous participation. It provides an opportunity for participants to:

  • Hear directly from transgender youth about their experiences navigating health care. 
  • Learn current terms and important concepts around gender identity.
  • Share challenges and strategies with each other when it comes to gender identity.
  • Build a more robust resource network with community agencies.

The event takes place on Friday, Oct. 28 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Washtenaw Community College’s Morris Lawrence Building at 4800 East Huron River Dr. in Ann Arbor.
