All UMHS employees are invited to attend the Honoring Orlando, a memorial event to remember those whose lives were lost in the recent Orlando shooting.  The event takes place today from noon to 1 p.m. at MCHC Auditorium-UH South.

This is a great opportunity to pay tribute to the victims and families affected by this tragic event that targeted the LGBTQ and Latino communities, as well as the first responders and healthcare providers who cared for them.

Though the sorrow and hurt felt by many will not be quickly dispelled, sharing a few moments together will demonstrate love, compassion and support for all of us who mourn and are saddened by this horrible loss of life.

This event will be live streamed at: https://connect.umms.med.umich.edu/showumhsorlandomemorial. Please note that the event is event is for employees only and is not open to the public.

The tragedy in Orlando has affected all of us in ways that are direct and indirect. If you are experiencing heightened levels of physical and emotional stress, please know there are resources available to you.

Support services offered by the UMHS Employee Assistance Program are readily available and provided at no charge. Call extension 3-5409 or email eap@umich.edu to make an appointment. Walk-ins are also accepted as needed on the 2nd floor of the Medical Professional Building.
