New Security Certificate for MWireless-UMHS, MWireless, and Eduroam Users

May 9, 2016  //  FOUND IN: UMHS News

On May 18, 2016 Information and Technology Services will be upgrading the certificate used to secure communications between a WiFi client device and the servers used to authenticate users connecting to MWireless-UMHS, MWireless, and eduroam.

Certificates help create a secure WiFi environment. They need to be renewed every one to three years. The current certificate used by MWireless-UMHS, MWireless, and eduroam is expiring and a replacement certificate for radius.umnet.umich.edu will be installed on May 18, 2016.

What Do You Need To Do?

Effective May 18, when you first connect to these networks, a popup box will appear asking you to accept a new security certificate. You will need to accept that certificate to continue using MWireless-UMHS, MWireless, and eduroam.

If your device has problems connecting to MWireless-UMHS, MWireless, or eduroam after the certificate update, please contact the UMHS Service Desk at (734) 936-8000 for assistance.
