You’re invited: 2016 Breast Cancer Summit

April 8, 2016  //  FOUND IN: UMHS News,

University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center experts will discuss breast cancer risks (and how you can reduce yours), as well as screening, treatment and research at a free Breast Cancer Summit tomorrow, April 9, at the University of Michigan North Campus Research Complex.

The summit, which is open to the public, will give women an opportunity to learn about their breast health and the latest advances in breast cancer. The event will include information for women currently being treated for breast cancer, cancer survivors and those at high risk of the disease.

Experts from U-M’s Breast Care Center will demonstrate how treatment decisions are made through our multidisciplinary tumor board. This mock session offers a glimpse into the many options and many factors that influence a patient’s choices. The program will also offer specialized presentations and the opportunity to speak with breast oncologists, nurses and a large variety of community exhibitors to answer questions for those who have been affected by cancer.

The Breast Cancer Summit is hosted by the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center Breast Oncology and Community Outreach Programs, with support from the U-M Breast Cancer Advocate Advisory Committee, Susan G. Komen Michigan, the University of Michigan School of Public Health, and QVC presents FFANY Shoes on Sale.
