April 22, 2016  //  FOUND IN: Updates & Resources

Good coaching is the ability to empower individuals to high levels of performance. Building and supporting commitment is what a good coach does best. This workshop for faculty will outline the characteristics that distinguish a coaching style of management from other styles, providing a way of thinking about coaching that is clear, concise and easy to understand. Key program components will include key components of coaching and effective coaching communication styles with an opportunity to practice these critical skills.

Objectives:

  • Demonstrate questioning techniques that elicit information from the employee and guides them to develop their own appropriate solutions
  • Demonstrate the ability to actively listen to what is being said as well as the underlying unspoken messages
  • Demonstrate an ability to provide open and honest feedback in a way that maintains the self-esteem of the coaches and enables action
