NEW! Yoga for Older Adults
The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department is proud to introduce our new Yoga for Older Adults! The mat yoga class is a slow to moderate paced Hatha yoga practice, which will move through poses to strengthen and lengthen muscles, increase flexibility and improve balance. Participants MUST be able to move from a standing position to seated and laying position on a mat. The chair yoga class is a slow paced gentle stretching made accessible to everyone! You will work on joint mobility, balance, and strengthening the muscles. Class will be performed either seated in a chair or standing using the chair or wall. This is perfect for people with arthritis and those unable to get on the floor without assistance.
Both yoga classes are from April 4-May 23, 2016. Mondays from 10 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. Mat Yoga and 11 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. Chair Yoga will be in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation on the 2nd floor in the aerobics room. Hurry and sign up, as the class is limited to only 10 participants!
