Today is National Hand Hygiene Day

May 5, 2015  //  FOUND IN: Announcements

As a health system, we are recognizing and supporting the World Health Organization’s International Hand Hygiene Day on May 5. We practice ongoing hand hygiene to keep our patients and our workforce safe and free from the spread of infection. To do this, we are encouraging vital hand hygiene behaviors: Clean, Remind, and Thank.

We want our staff to feel comfortable to remind each other to practice hand hygiene, and in turn be thankful for the reminder.

Resources to support ongoing hand hygiene can be found at: http://www.med.umich.edu/i/ice/resources/hh_toolkit.html

Show your support of hand hygiene by uploading your photo holding the #safehands sign and posting it to the WHO website. Many U-M staff are already pictured on the site!  (View photos in Chrome, Safari, or Firefox).

Thank you for maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our patients, families, faculty and staff.
