Dean’s Office to honor Victor J. DiRita with farewell reception (May 19)

Victor J. DiRita, Ph.D.

The Medical School Dean’s Office will host a farewell reception for Victor J. DiRita, Ph.D., at 4:30 p.m. May 19 in the Gilbert S. Omenn Atrium of the A. Alfred Taubman Biomedical Science Research Building.

A U-M faculty member since 1991, he was named assistant dean for graduate and postdoctoral studies in 2008. He was promoted to associate dean for graduate and postdoctoral studies in 2010. He also is a professor in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology.

On June 1, DiRita will become the Rudolph Hugh Endowed Chair in Microbial Pathogenesis and chair of the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics at Michigan State University (MSU), his alma mater.

DiRita’s colleagues and friends are invited to attend and wish him well at MSU.
