Update: Severe thunderstorm warning CANCELLED

The severe thunderstorm warning for Washtenaw and northeastern Lenawee counties is cancelled.

The storms which prompted the warning have weakened below severe limits and no longer pose an immediate threat to life or property. However, gusty winds are still possible with these thunderstorms.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for northern Lenawee and Washtenaw counties.

At 4:21 p.m., Doppler radar indicated a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing quarter size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph.

These storms were located along a line extending from Chelsea to Onsted and moving northeast at 40 mph. Severe thunderstorms will be near Hudson Mills around 4:30 p.m., Pleasant Lake and Dexter around 4:35 p.m., Delhi Mills around 4:40 p.m., Barton Hills around 4:45 p.m., Milan and Saline around 4:55 p.m., Whittaker and Pittsfield Township around 5 p.m.

For your protection, move to an interior room on the lowest floor of your home or business.
