Metro Detroit artist Katrina Ruby’s work is a juxtaposition of fragility and strength.
The delicacy of the glass contrasts beautifully with the strength of the metal and they work together to create a sense of stillness and calm. Ruby’s work is deeply influenced by nature. She recharges her creativity by returning to the rural land of her childhood, a small town in western Massachusetts. There she finds the peace, calm and beauty that nature has to offer.
