Complimentary wheelchairs and walkers available at Ann Arbor Art Fair

The U-M Health System’s Home Care Services organization will once again be offering free wheelchairs and wheeled-walkers with seats during this year’s Ann Arbor Art Fair. This service will be available to anyone who needs extra assistance navigating through the fair.

Wheelchairs and walkers can be used free of charge from the Home Care Services booth on Wednesday, July 18 through Friday, July 20, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, July 21 from10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Home Care Services booth will again be located on the corner of Fletcher and North University, inside the Original Ann Arbor Street Art Fair. Obtaining a wheelchair or walker is simple and stress-free for you or someone you know who needs extra help getting around.

Home Care Services has been offering complimentary wheelchairs for the past four years and the booth’s popularity has increased immensely. During its fifth consecutive year, Home Care Services plans to continue to help those who cannot handle the hours of walking. One of the art fair attendees who utilized this service in the past was Virginia Ford who was finally able to attend the Ann Arbor Art Fair after being unable to go for many years due to limited mobility caused by polio.

This year, Home Care Services will also be offering free sunscreen to further promote their services and insure a safe and healthy day for art fair attendees.
