Meet MAFP’s 2012 Family Physician of the Year, Dr. Stefani Hudson!
Dr. Hudson currently serves as the Medical Director at the University of Michigan’s Ypsilanti Health Center, working with individuals from a wide range of socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds. She has played a key role in the formation of the center’s exceptional reputation in the community for compassionate, quality care.
Dr. Hudson’s valuable role in the community extends far beyond her professional accomplishments. Her volunteer efforts include work with community support and treatment services and the Hope Clinic, a non-profit organization providing free care for the underserved and poor individuals in the Ypsilanti area. Dr. Hudson’s leadership role at the Hope Clinic has earned her considerable respect among colleagues and patients, alike.
In addition, she works closely with the University of Michigan Medical School to get young residents and medical students involved in the work she does. Indeed, as a mentor and caregiver, Dr. Hudson’s contribution to the local community cannot be overstated.
Dr. Hudson earned her medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School in 2003 and completed her residency at the University of Michigan Department of Family Medicine in 2006.
