University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center epidemiologist David Musch was featured in a Reuters article this week discussing vision loss related to diabetes.
In a new study, researchers from Johns Hopkins found vision loss likely related to diabetes increased 20 percent in less than 10 years.
Musch, who was not involved in the research, but wrote an editorial with the study, says the results are alarming.
"This is probably only one of a number of signs that will be evident in the near future if we continue to have young children and adolescents be overweight and obese," he told Reuters Health.
