“How to Support Recovery and Not Support Addiction” will be presented on Tuesday, May 15, from 7:30-9 p.m., by Charles F. Gehrke, M.D., FACP, FASAM. This session will be held at the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Education Center auditorium, 5305 Elliott Drive, Ypsilanti.
When all else has failed, what can you do when confronted with a loved one’s addiction? What does not work? What can others do to help? What does not help? What role does an individual play in supporting another person’s recovery process? These are among the questions that will be addressed in order to assist participants to find effective methods to successfully support another person’s recovery, avoid enabling another person’s addiction, and maintain their own health and well-being.
This program is part of the Dawn Farm Education Series, a free, annual workshop series developed to provide helpful, hopeful, practical information about addiction, recovery, family recovery and related issues. It is open to all; registration is not required. CE for addiction professionals is provided.
