Read the new Medicine at Michigan magazine online, on paper – or on an iPad or iPhone!

A new issue of Medicine at Michigan magazine has just come out, featuring stories on everything from pancreatic cancer to the future of medical leadership.

And for the first time, there are three ways to read it: online at www.medicineatmichigan.org/magazine, in the print edition, or on an iPad or iPhone.

The UMHS Office of Medical Development & Alumni Relations has created a free app that lets you leaf through the magazine as if you were reading it on paper – and get easy access to additional information on the web.

If you have an iPad or iPhone, go to the Apple App Store and search for Medicine at Michigan. Or, if you have a QR code reader app, aim your device’s camera at the QR code below to be connected directly to the app download.

The app even lets you see several past issues. As new issues come out, the app will signal users that they are ready for download.

The app, like most U-M apps, is free and available to anyone anywhere. If you know someone who is interested in the Health System, encourage them to get the app too!

To give feedback on the app or the magazine, send a message to medicineatmichigan@umich.edu.

Other good U-M mobile apps and sites:

  • Health System Headlines – The website for this newsletter has a mobile-friendly interface that comes up whenever you visit it from the browser on a mobile device
  • The Michigan app – The official U-M app, with news, access to the MCommunity directory, the Magic Bus real-time bus locator, and more, is available from the Apple App Store and from Google Play for Android devices.
  • Plain Language Medical Dictionary – Created by the Taubman Health Sciences Library, this app for Apple and Android devices converts medical language into everyday English.
  • Nerve Whiz, Heart Sound Challenge and M.D.Stat+ – created at the Medical School to help with nerve-related diagnosis, learning of heart sounds and the med school application process
