U-M fitness program helps manage metabolic syndrome

Metabolic syndrome is a cluster of conditions that greatly increases one’s risk of heart disease, stroke, and diabetes. The safest and most effective way to improve metabolic fitness is with nutrition, exercise, and weight loss. The Metabolic Fitness Program meets as a structured group to encourage behavioral change by combining education, coaching strategies, and clinically-supervised group exercise.

Referral and screening clinic appointments are required. Weekly sessions meet either Mondays, 6:30-8 a.m. or Tuesdays, 5:30 – 7 p.m. in Cardiovascular Medicine at Domino’s Farms.
