AARP magazine features U-M hospitals for safe patient care

This month’s issue of the magazine published by AARP, which reaches tens of millions of Americans, features a list of “Hospital Safety Superstars” and details on what they are doing to protect patients from errors, infections and other unexpected events.

The U-M Health System is featured on both the list and in the accompanying magazine article, thanks to its innovative efforts to improve the safety of care and to learn from unanticipated outcomes. Rick Boothman, the chief risk officer for UMHS, is quoted.
