University leaders run Politico editorial on closing innovation deficit

AAU and the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) ran a two-page ad in the Washington publication Politico.

The ad consists of an open letter to the President and Congress signed by more than 160 presidents and chancellors of AAU and APLU universities, including nearly every AAU member.

The subject of the letter is the “Innovation Deficit,” the growing gap between where federal investments in research and higher education are and where they should be.
