Seminar "Taking Care of You" to address digestive health and taking care of your heart (May 6)

The University of Michigan Department of Family Medicine will offer “Taking Care of You: Integrative Medicine Seminar” on Sunday, May 6, from 1-3 p.m. at Weber’s Inn, 3050 Jackson Road.

The seminar will include the following presentations:

Integrative Approaches to Digestive Health

Do you have irritable bowel syndrome or another gastrointestinal disorder? Learn about natural approaches to alleviate your symptoms. Amy Locke, M.D., a physician with U-M’s integrative medicine program, will discuss nutrition, dietary supplements and mind-body modalities as they relate to your digestive health.

Healthy Hearts: Integrating Natural Approaches With State-of-the-Art Care

What can you do to improve your health? Learn how to take care of your heart through healthy nutrition, exercise and stress management. In a discussion led by Sara Warber, M.D., the director of the interdisciplinary integrative medicine program at U-M, you will learn new ways to care for your heart naturally. Learn more about hyperlipidemia and the use of supplements for hypertension.
