On 60th anniversary of DNA structure’s discovery, Dr. Markel pens PBS Newshour column

Yesterday, Feb. 28, was the 60th anniversary of the discovery of the structure of DNA, by scientists James Watson and Francis Crick.

U-M medical historian Howard Markel, M.D., looks back on that momentous announcement – made at first in a British pub, in a new column available at http://www.pbs.org/newshour/rundown/2013/02/the-pub-where-the-secret-of-life-was-first-announced.html

It’s the latest in his series of columns for the PBS Newshour tracing the history of important milestones in medical and scientific history.
